After a long and distinguished legal and business career in both Florida and Hawaii, Ed Zwick joins HBS as a Director.
Edward F. Zwick received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961 and his J.D. cum laude from Union University, Albany Law School, in 1964, where he was editor of the law review and graduated 2nd in his class.
Ed has extensive experience in international business and corporate matters, real estate, mergers and acquisitions and various complex financings. His
background includes international licensing and technology agreements, particularly between the U.S. and Europe, Asia and South America. He is active in advising high profile political leaders on international business matters. Current clients include companies involved in electronics and telecommunications, biotech, medical devices and renewable energy, particularly biodiesel. He is admitted to practice before all courts in Florida and New York.
Ed formerly served as Chairman of the Southeast/US Japan Association (Florida Delegation). Before moving to Maui, he was an active member of the Florida Council for International Development and a founding member and former director of the Japanese American Society and the Morikami Museum in Delray Beach, Florida. He was also chairman of Nihongo Gakko (Japanese Language School).
He served as a Commissioner of the Maui County Cost of Government Commission and he also served as Chairman of the Maui County Sister Cities Foundation.
He was Secretary and a Director of the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance, Inc from 2006 - 2014. Ed was also a member of the Maui County Liquor Adjudication Board from 2009-2013.
Ed joined Pacific Biodiesel as Secretary and General Counsel in 2007 and retired on December 31st, 2014. While at Pacific Biodiesel, he served as a member of the Board of Managers of Big Island Biodiesel, LLC., which is currently operating a 5,000,000 gallon per year biodiesel plant on the Big Island of Hawaii.
He also currently serves as Secretary and Legal Consultant to the Savings Plan Advisory Committee of OkiData in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
